ABOUT BENTLEIGH GREENS sc WOMEN
Bayside United FC is located in the Bayside area of Melbourne, Australia and is now merged with Bentleigh Greens Soccer Club competing in Victoria's Womens National Premier League (NPLW) - the premier competition for girls' and women's football (soccer) in Victoria.
NPLW VIC is the topflight Victorian league for women's and girls' football (soccer). It's all about the girls! We field teams in all NPLW VIC age groups - Seniors, Under 20s, Under 17s, Under 15s, Under 13s and pre-NPLW Under 12s and Under 11s. We also run school holiday clinics and development programs for girls ages 8-12 who want to take their football to the next level.
The season start date and length varies between seniors and juniors, but it generally runs from March to August. The current NPLW VIC fixtures, results and league ladder can be found here.
The NPLW Victoria was launched in 2016. It serves as a talented player pathway from local community club football to A-League Women and beyond. With the support of Bayside City and Kingston City Councils, five community football (soccer) clubs in the Bayside region joined forces to create Bayside United FC, which gained entry to the new league.
In December 2023 Football Victoria formally approved the merger between Bentleigh Greens SC and Bayside United FC. This merger is a testament to the growing strength and recognition of women's football. A bigger, better and stronger Bentleigh Greens SC promises to bring the women and girls of the club more opportunities, resources, and exposure.
Bentleigh Greens SC provides girls and women in Melbourne's south and beyond with a pathway from the fun beginnings of community club soccer to the potential of A-League Women, International college scholarships, or Young Matildas representation.
